Dana Guglielmo breaks Guinness World Record for ‘joggling’

Joggling, a combination of running and juggling, may not be a household sport, but on April 6, Moorestown resident Dana Guglielmo broke the Guinness World Record for 5K Joggling. Guglielmo is now planning to attempt to break the 10K and marathon joggling record. She will also be running for the Arthritis National Research Foundation. Read more »

Peach Festival comes to Moorestown in August

Fresh peaches, homemade baked goods and ice cream will be featured at the annual Peach Festival on August 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Moorestown. Activities for children include a moon bounce, peach cotton candy, face painting and animal balloon making. Music will be provided by the FUMC Gospel Band.

Burlington County Police Departments now equipped with Narcan

Police departments in Burlington County are now equipped with an antidote that can be used to reverse heroin overdoses. Kits containing Narcan, the aerosol form of the drug Naloxone, has been distributed to 30 municipal police departments as well as the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department. More than 60 officers were trained to administer the antidote.

His two-year term began July 1, 2014. Cooper was elected president-elect in 2012.

Rotary Club of Moorestown Awards $25,000 in College Scholarships

The Rotary Club of Moorestown has awarded a total of $25,000 in college scholarships to 10 Moorestown High School students this June. The students were honored during the Rotary Club’s lunch meeting on June 12 where Rotarians heard from the students about their college of choice and their majors. They were each given $2,500. Rotarians enjoyed the opportunity to give “happy dollars” for those colleges where they themselves had attended.

More swimmers qualify for Tri-County Championships from Sunnybrook Mako Sharks

The Sunnybrook Mako Sharks swim team traveled to the Covered Bridge Swim Club in Cherry Hill for their second A meet of the summer, and went away with a strong victory and with 15 more swimmers qualifying for the Tri-County Championships in August. Sunnybrook won the meet with 311 points to Covered Bridge’s 243.

Christmas in july in Moorestown

Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio announced that the Burlington County Farmers Market and the Marine Corps League Detachment # 695, will once again be celebrating “Christmas in July” on Saturday, July 19. “Every year the Marine Corps League Detachment # 695 collects toys for children throughout Burlington County,” said Freeholder Director Garganio. “Last Christmas, through the generous support of the County’s residents, MCLD #695 collected approximately 42,000 toys which were distributed to over 13,000 children in the County.”
